What this site collects, why, who handles it, and how to have it removed. Last updated October 10, 2026.
The Craft of AI is run by Grant Baldwin. This page covers thecraftofai.com and one small tool Grant uses with his own Gmail. If anything here is unclear, write to grant@thecraftofai.com.
What we collect
The only thing you can give this site is your email address. You give it when you sign up for The Brief, or when you ask for one of the free guides. When you ask for a guide, we also note which guide it was. No form asks for your name, company or phone number.
Like most sites, we also see basic visit data: which pages were read, roughly where visitors are, and what device and browser they used. This comes from the analytics tools named below.
Why we use it
Your email address is used to send what you asked for: the guide, and The Brief if you signed up for it. We note which guide you asked for so later emails are relevant to you. Visit data tells us which pages are useful, so we can write more of them.
We do not sell your information, rent it or trade it. We do not use it for advertising.
Who handles it
A few outside services do the work for us. Each one handles only what it needs:
- beehiiv keeps the email list and sends The Brief.
- Resend sends the email that delivers your guide, and the welcome email.
- Vercel hosts the site. Its server logs can briefly record the email address a form sent. Vercel Web Analytics counts visits without cookies.
- Google Analytics measures visits and sets its own cookies in your browser.
- Google Fonts supplies the site's typefaces, so your browser asks Google for them.
Booking a call happens on cal.com, which has its own privacy policy. This site only links to it.
Removing yourself
Every issue of The Brief has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. To have your email address deleted from our list entirely, or to ask what we hold about you, write to grant@thecraftofai.com and it will be done.
To stop Google Analytics cookies, you can block cookies for this site in your browser settings. The site works the same without them.
Vault inbox
Vault inbox is a private tool Grant built to keep his own reading organized. If you see its name on a Google sign-in screen, this section explains what it does.
It connects only to Grant's own Gmail accounts. Nobody else can sign in to it. In those accounts, it reads two kinds of email: notes Grant sends himself, and newsletters he subscribed to and listed in the tool. It saves their text to Grant's private notes library and uses Anthropic's Claude to summarize them. It then labels each saved email "Vaulted", marks it read and archives it. It never sends email, never deletes email and never reads anything else. Grant also gets a short summary of each run in his own Slack.
Data from Google is not sold, not used for advertising and not shared with anyone except the services named in this section that do the work. Vault inbox's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If this changes
If we start collecting something new, or use a new service, we will update this page and its date first. Questions are always welcome at grant@thecraftofai.com.
